EMachine C1641; WinXP Home SP2: upon booting to the desktop a whole mess of DLL errors pop up related to numerous apps including AVG, Kodak EasyShare, AOL, and several others. Trying to run msconfig produces an error about system permissions. Upon launching Dial_A_Fix, I got 3 errors before the main GUI even opened and it's erroring on every single file it's trying to repair/re-register. EVERY SINGLE ONE! Is there a command I can use from the command line to re-register and/or repair all the DLL files? Would the system file checker do anything at this point? As I think about it, it seems that a repair install may be the only way to go here, but hopefully I'm wrong.

OK- I ran the system file checker after purging the cache (purging took about 4 or 5 minutes and I've never seen it take longer than 30 seconds before today) and that seems to have fixed alot of the .DLL problems, and Dial_A_Fix now runs without erroring on every file; just a few IE files were problematic which is pretty common and not a big deal. I guess I'll move into scanning for malware now (if anyone really cares :p )
