I have a Windows 2000 Pro CDROM which has cracked from the center to about a half inch outwards, preventing my computer from being able to recognize it as a disk. This is causing me some trouble because i need it to reinstall the OS on my computer (so i can quit using this Windows? 98) and get back to something more secure and stable. Does anyone know how i can get a new copy of the disk. I dont need a key, becasue i already own one- i just need the disk. And barring getting a new copy, is there a way i can get my other copy (which is a Dell proprietary disk) to work in my current machine just long enough to get me up and running again? I'm running a machine with AMD's Athlon XP2100+ CPU on an ASUS Motherboard, model A7V333, if that helps.

I would start with Dell, they may actually send you a new CD for a nominal fee; if not try Microsoft.

Microsoft won't help you, since the system was bought from Dell.

If the CD that cracked is from Dell, please call them to have the CD replaced.
