Problem: When running DiskCleanup it used to compress to under 1000. Now after installing a new Norton anti-virus, it only will compress to 80,000. Is this because of the Norton? Or is it another issue? How can I get it to compress more? I think it is causing my computer to run slower than it used to. It also seems I have to defrag more often than I used to.
    Is my compression in regression????????????????????

Hi dave :) Well, you could uninstall Norton try again and if you're back to the usual compression, then it was Norton (which had the reputation of being a real resource hog and a "bigfoot" program.) Also have you checked your C drive for any unusually large files? Sometimes install proggies leave lots of temp files on your hd. You could also d/l and install crap cleaner and
CleanUp! run them and see if there are a buncha files that need flushing. Someone else will probably be along with some better ideas, but those are a start.
    Good Luck

Thanks, I already have "cleanup" installed and use it constantly. I also downloaded "crap cleaner" last night and it found a lot of stuff, but compression field still showed 80,000 when I was finished.
