by having diskkeeper pro running always does that mean that you're constantly rearranging/altering the contents of your hard drive? That might be the source of your slowness. You can also use the task manager to help you determine what programs are eating up your resources. Press ctrl+alt+del and bring up the task manager and then click on the processes tab. There, you can see how much cpu time is being dedicated to a particular program. Also, you can do the same for RAM as well. Another thing you can do is click on the performances tab and see how much RAM you have currently available. After you look at that, take a note of what programs are using the most RAM/CPU time and that should give you a good indication of what is slowing down your computer.

Here's a good list. Just follow the instructions here and install CCleaner for drive cleaning and get a third party defragmenter because it usually works better than the default windows one. e.g. diskeeper which you already have. Also, I have another little tool called SpaceMonger that shows me how much space everything is taking up. It's a good program to help determine what to delete when your hard drive gets full.

You may find this useful. http://www.processlibrary.com/ then select the "process scanner" tab. Its free and works well. Will give you a run down of what is running with your computer and if its ok or not. Also may I suggest this software as well, http://www.windowsstartup.com/ . This will give you more control of things starting with your computer that may be causing the slowdown.

Also crapcleaner http://www.ccleaner.com/ works great. Use to to scan for registry errors to. Last but not least I would suggest not letting the defragger run in the back ground. Just once every month or so defrag if you need to.

I use crap cleaner, the registry cleaner that comes with crap cleaner, Do the process scan, defrag about once a month, and keep start up programs to a minum. WIth startup inspector, just hit the consult button, will provide you with a google link if the program can not tell you if its good or not. My computer just hums right along. Hope that was what you were wanting to know.
