my computer audio output is a 1/8" stereo jack. I ran regular 18 gauge speaker wire from my office to my garage and from my office to my living room. I was planning on hooking up my computer to this wire so I could send my mp3's into my garage where I would hook that into my stereo and have some good times. I cannot fine an adapter that has an 1/8" jack to bare wire leads.

what I did was get an 1/8" jack to rca plugs adapter and pulled the plugs off hoping to find simple bare wire. problem is each jack has two wires, and they run hot. are there any audio programs out there with bare wire hookups?

This may or not help you but this is what i done

I got a old jack that fitten my Sound card and split the end and wired it up with speaker cable into my hi-fi amp with a switch in-line so i could switch from HI-FI to desktop speakers so when i am in the other room I switch it over to route through to my other room into my HI-FI amp , there for the computer room not blaring out when i am not there
