    Hello Major Geeks,

I don't quite now where to put this question, so I'll give it a go here!

Until 3/4 years ago I used Virgin.net pay as you go and have several virgin.net addresses, which I am rather fond of, and have had since I first got a computer several years ago. Since then, I've been through NTL and Bulldog Broadband and now Talk Talk, and still managed to keep my virgin net addresses. I would have gone with Virgin for broadband, but they weren't competitive enough.

Virgin.net have now told me that they will no longer go on providing my addresses unless I use their broadband service, which I don't wish to do.

I've got a yahoo address as well, but I really like having computer based email, and particularly like Seamonkey, which unlike Outlook Express means I don't have to keep switching identities all the time.

Is there such a thing as a computer based multi-email address provider that doesn't insist you use their ISP. Free, hopefully. Or is that too much to ask?

    Thanks,
    Linda

Gmail which is free by invite offers a POP service, which can be used by many various email clients, sadly not noticed Seamonkey on the list but I would imagine its pretty close to setup similar to Thunderbird.

If you wish an invite, you can PM me with an email address of your choice and I will send you an invite. ( note: dont post your email address on the forum as its likely the spam harvesters will pick it up and you will be inundated with offers of Viagra, Loans etc )

Also my favoured Mail.ru offer POP access, but I don't know how no Russian IP friendly they are these days http://eng.mail.ru/cgi-bin/splash ( english page )

seamonkey is the old mozilla suite. It uses both firefox and thunderbird in an "all in one" application. Which is one of the reasons that FF 2 removed the email icon, cause it (FF2.0) is a standalone app.

Anyway, thunderbird....err seamonkey's email client should work just fine with the gmail pop3 protocol.

Or, you could ask me for an invite, via PM.
