Left the computer on overnite, as ususal. I run a McAfee virus scan each night, and the software updates automatically. In the morning the screen was dark. Restarted the computer-it goes through post, check memory, hard drive, etc, goes to next screen where it goes blank again and the HD stops turning. Tried a bare bones boot to no avail. At times can get into Bios settings, but the screen blanks before getting anything done. Upgraded to a new mobo, processor, HD, PS-exact same thing happens. The only original components are the monitor (LCD), RAM, Keyboard (Microsoft), and mouse (Microsoft optical). Stumped.

    Welcome to MG. :)

As you seem to have changed most things but not yet the RAM (one of the most common failure modes I would try removing a stick at a time and trying a reboot bewteen removals. Of course if you've only one stick then you'll need to try a new stick. ;)

I have 2 sticks. I tried both, then swapped one at a time with the same result. Tonight I'll pull the RAM out of my other computer and give it a try. Then, I'll get the hammer and make further minor adjustments. I'll repost tonight after the RAM switch.
