Okay, so I'm in need of help with building my computer.

I know how to build and put stuff together and I know my way around a computer, but I wanna see what everyone else uses and what they would pick out so I can build my next computer on what everyone else says.

So, when I go to build my computer, I'll pick out a cool case so know worries, but if a few people wouldn't mind suggesting a motherboard, CPU, RAM, and Graphics Card, that would be cool as it will help me with the building of my next computer.

I'm on a budget of $400. My uses of this computer will be for games, and just basic computer stuff for school and just normal web surfing.

    Thanks guys!

$400 and you want to play games? You're gonna have to be running a pretty low spec

Depends on which games you want to play. ;)

A few months ago Tom's Hardware had a builders guide on a $500 gaming PC. Go to their site and check that out, it will probably give you some helpful tips and suggestions.

    EDIT:
Actually, just go here. And keep in mind prices have dropped since April, you should be able to get slightly better components for the same price right now.

My bad, I meant to put $500. $100 makes a difference.

My bad. I can't edit my posts for some reason so I couldn't quote this in the last message. (sorry for double posting)

Do you have a link for the site? I'm too lazy to look it up, lol.

Yes, I do. Added it while you were typing. :)

    Thank you.

So, does Toms Hardware just give you suggestions on what you should use or do they sell stuff?

They review, suggest and advise. They do not sell components, instead they link to online vendors who do.

Also try to look for combined deals from online retailers, like case and cpu discounts etc

That reminds me... assuming you don't need a huge case, the CoolerMaster Centurion is an outstanding one for its price tag. There are better cases out there, of course, but not at that price. I've had mine for 4 years now and still love it.

I haven't been able to find the case. Any links to where I can see the case?

EDIT: I found the case on Tiger Direct and New Egg, but does it come with a PSU?
