Computer continuously reboots

My friend has a Dell 8400 desktop with a 4 month old 1 tb hard drive. The OS is XP Media Center home. It is also running McAfee. I have not been able to tell if it has the DAT.5958. The PC was running fine when it suspended. When she woke it up it was in reboot mode. No mater how I try to boot it, it just reboots. When I disable auto reboot I get the following stop: 0x0000007B (0xF79FB524,0xC0000034,0x00000000,0x00000000). I could not find anything about it. I have tried ren kernel32.dll, and that did not help. So I hoping someone here can.

Thank you very much plodr. System will not boot in any mode. So I am using RC to enter commands. In the meantime I have purchased and installed a new battery. Form recovery console, I ran fixboot, fixmbr, chkdsk /p. That did not help. I tried to run ren “%CommonProgramFiles%\McAfee\Engine\avvscan.dat” avvscan.old, and copy %systemroot%\system32\dllcache\svchost.exe %systemroot%\system32\. It returned The command is not recognized on both. Can I just delete McAfee from RC?
