Computer...crashes?? or freezes?

alright well..my computer recently has been acting wierd..whenever im running like 2 programs or maybe 3..it all of a sudden just freezes...my mouse moves but it wont click on anything..for example..i was downloading some songs..then i closed aim..while closing..it froze...the only way i could do anything is if i hit ctr alt delete...and hold it down...doin that sometimes lets me restart...but i dont know if its crashing or what is up....

PS..i know some about computers and i keep it clean and updated with antivirus and spyware programs...and in general is a pretty fast pc...

i ran over 6 scans with programs and only 1 thing popped up and i got rid of it..and it tsil lfreezes...someone help plz

 

Check if it is overheating (fans get clogged up with gunk).
Also check if the Ram chip(s) are properly seated(give them a gentle wriggle in their seats)

umm..i ran pest patrol anti spyware..and i found backdoor bifrose...i got rid of it and it came back like 2 days later....now i just deleted it in safe mode...

if you're downloading music from a peer to peer network, i would suggest you stop using it. not accusing you just saying these p2p networks aren't created by the friendliest people you know. Have you cleaned out your startup processes?

 

It it was cause by that, one of the scans should have picked it up.

Is it actually freezing, or is it just going really really slow? Cause if you dont have a lot of RAM, and you run too many programs it might be too much for the comp to handle and it goes insanly slow.

 

well i need a lil ram but i dont think thats whats wrong...but it freezes and the only way anything will be clicked..is if i hit ctr alt delet..and hold it..and preety much all i can do after that is restart....

Depending on the software that might be true, but if the software is outdated (or even just the definitions) the software will not pick up newer viruses or spyware. Also, not every anti-virus and anti-spyware program can pick up on every source of a virus or spyware. Even if the computer didn't find anything on the computer during the scan, doesn't mean it isn't there. Plus as i mentioned earlier, p2p networks are not created by the friendliest of people. If you don't want to risk infecting your computer I would still suggest that you stop using p2p networks, if that is what you're using.

 

i am currently using limewire pro...should be spyware free by advertisement

 

how could i get rid of that bifrose..i did that malware page with all those free programs andnothin showed up

 

I dont really think that limewire is free of spyware, even if it is the purchased version, but if you say so...

Which programs did you scan with? Cause some are more sensitive than others. I suggest trying Spyware Doctor if you didnt already, cause in my experience, it picks up spyware from programs like LimeWire and BearShare.

 

ok my problem defintly has to do with backdoor bifroze..ive gone through all that malware page and did all those scans and nothin came up....i know its this because the last 2 days i havent had any problems(because i removed it with etrust)..and i just now had a frozen pc...and i ran anotehr scan..and it popped up....i guess il try that malware stuff again......
