My computer crashes when i'm playing newer games. I have tried many things to fix it and nothing seems to work. what happens is when i am playing the game it starts to lag then is fine then aftr a bit lags again, and finaly the computer freezes. I have updated windows and my drivers for everything. I reformatted to see if that woudl fix it. I installed anti spyware and virus(nortan and microsoft). I have tried many different games like WoW, Doom3, Warcraft 3, Unreal 2004. Everything freezes randomly. I try fixes for each game but nothing works. Is it my card or hardware or what could be wrong? I am incredibly frustrated. sometimes when it freezes windows will not work. Sometimes it takes 3-4 tries to reboot the computer. I have tried memtest and no errors were found but i stopped it after about 20 hours. I am running windows XP pro. Is there any way i coudl get more information from the error logs?

Error i got in event viewer, could this be the problem? I have 2 hardrives in this computer one i do not need, should i disconnect it?

no you shouldnt have to disconnect the 2nd HD,

Did you build this pc? just wondering if you have installed the Intel Chipset Drivers?

Something else to look at is the cable, swap it from another one, you could just to test just pull the data cable from the second HD and see if its the same.

From the description of your problem, it sounds like over heating when the graphics card is put under a load. Take the side cover off your computer and direct a floor fans output into your case and see if that helps your problem. Any device labeled 0 on an IDE channel will be the master device. Hope this helps! :)

Pardon me Halo, I was talking with someone while posting ( takes time ) and didn't see you!

I did not build it myself i got the computer from ibuypower.com and the other hard drive is disconnected, any idea what those errors mean or why it freezes everytime?

errors are linked to the harddrive controller on your mobo not taking to the HDs, I would be very tempted to install those Intel Chipset drivers to hopefully update the HD controller drivers.
