I had an LG GH22KS40 DVD new, installed in my computer, i also have a LITE-ON DVDRW SHW-160P6S the lite on is recognized by my computer the LG was not. So i thought it was the LG which many people told me was an inferior brand. I then went out and returned it and bought a Pioneer DVR- A18M writer and the same thing is happening. Brand new IDE cables, still it does not recognize that Pioneer, can somebody please help me?

I will answer my own question: both are IDE/ATA, you have to set the jumpers on the the rear of the drives: on the one furthest from the board connector: "Master" and the other's jumper to "Slave."

    Thanks to all who viewed!
