Computer Forums Closing

Considering the reasoning behind it, it's not surprising:

If a forum does not have constant care as far as moderators willing to put in the time to delete spam and administrators who are willing and able to put in the proper filters, you are going to wind up with a place that is uncontrollable as far as spammers go. Once they target, you will find 50 of them registering and posting crap at a time.

It sounds like they were not willing to put in the commitment and it was very slow as far as use.

As the note says, there a lot of good forums out there...including this one.

I agree with the premise of the closure and the fact that as a tech forum they just did not get quality posts, that's what keeps a forum open, if users post links to videos, post jokes and junk (not to say they are bad just not for tech forums) then said forums will not keep open as advertisers will dump them as without tech quality threads and posts they have nothing to pay for advertising on, they do not want to know some X listed stars sex habits.

Its a hard time for tech forums these days so in part it needs the user base to step up and make tech based questions and ideas, that make others think and debate tech issues, not general news, jokes or videos of idiots, as this does not bring in ad revenue and I think that's what happened at PC Pro, the advertisers thought, nothing of interest here and pulled cash finance for ads.

This is where while I like a goof off I will not accept the trade off in the Majorgeeks tech forums with junkiecrud threads, the onus here is on malware removal, tech computing period.
