Computer Freezes after bootup

It freezes after every startup in normal mode. It works fine in safemode. I was going to do a system restore to see if that would fix it, but it was disabled. I also disabled everything at startup and it still freezes.

Specs on this computer are
Windows 7 - Home
HP - Pavillion dv4 notebook
4.0 GB RAM
Processor: Intel duo cpu T6600 2.20GHz

I also attempted to do a virus scan in safemode and it Norton shut down during the scan.
