I think the model of my computer is a Gateway GT5056 and its and XP.Well the other day I put the computer into standby and when i logged back on it froze after a minute or so(I had to plug it out). Then when I tried to turn on the computer it made a long starting up sound but the screen remained black. I had to unplug it AGAIN and it worked on the second try. Then a few days later it happened again after standby(once again I unplug it). I remember that the spydoctor was running a scan at the time so when I started up the computer i got a bunch of messages from spybot saying "the instruction at so and so could not be read click to terminate" so i pressed ok for all and uninstalled spydocter. I've been 2 afraid to go into standby or even leave my computer on for 2 long.

How do I stop it from freezing like this?
