    OK, here's a strange problem...

    My computer randomly freezes.

It doesn't seem to have anyting to do with what I'm doing on it at the time, i.e. playing graphically intensive games, which I never do anyway or running complicated aps. It just freezes, even during simple net surfing.

Another problem that has developed lately is the inability to wake the comp up! When I go away from it for a few hours I can't wake it up by using the mouse nor the keyboard. It's just frozen dead and the only way to get it going is to reset it.

I haven't made any hardware changes or installed any new programs prior save for upgrading my Zone alarm pro.

I took it to a tech who ran a bunch of tests but nothing showed.
BIOS are fine, memory is fine, hdd is fine, cpu's fine, no spyware or viruses, I even swiched the psu to see if that is the coz but it froze 10 minutes later.

I'm not sure if this is a hardware problem anymore but I don't know where else to post this.

My system info is posted below.

    Can anyone help?

    Huh, well, try this:

Right click on the desktop, then click properties, next click on the tab "Screen saver", then make sure screen saver has [None] selected.

Then, click on the "Power" button, make sure everything at power is set to "Never".

Finally, click on the Hibernate button, uncheck "Enable Hibernate".

Why am I asking you to do all this? Most of this is what causes your machine to slumber. They may be nice fetures, but I typically disable them.

    I hope this helps!

weird things like that can happen when you overclock your processor

I rolled back the cpu to it's original settings but that didn't help either.

Everything was always set to "Never" and the "Enable Hibernate" was walways unchecked.

Try switching your sata cables around to different sata ports, then try a different cable,if you have a spare ide harddrive lying around mirror your drive and run for a while using the ide drive.
