    For about 2 months I have had issues with the computer freezing and slow loading.
    At first I thought it was the browser, so I did a complete uninstall of Chrome. Reinstalled but the same issues that was with Chrome. So I switched to Firefox which I rarely use same thing. Tried Edge (which I hate) and same issue. Then I discovered Vivaldi which I love but the issue continues.
    I'm not sure if this is the correct place to ask for help but thought I would start here.

    Logs are attached.
    Trend Micro antivirus ran this morning and came up clean.
    I also ran Hi Jack This but it only allows for 5 file uploads. If you want to see that let me know.

    With having the same issue on all those browsers I am thinking it is a Windows 10 issue. I did reach out to Microsoft and the few steps they suggested didn't fix the issue with.
    When it freezes the only way to use the pc is to shut it down (manually) and reboot and that takes forever also.

    Any help is greatly appreciated, as always.

    Please remove what Hitman and RogueKiller found.

    Reboot and run this scan, please:

    Please go here > https://www.zemana.com/Download
    their program is no longer free, but you can use the demo version for this cleaning.

    It auto updates, and you click scan. After it's finished, click on the icon that looks like Cell phone strength bars. High-light the report (by date log was produced) and click on the "Open Report" icon. (looks like a folder). That notepad.txt can then be copied/pasted into another .txt doc and saved. Upload that, please.

    Thank you for replying so quickly and checking the logs.
    It took forever to complete as the pc froze at least a dozen times. Ready to toss it over the balcony. lol.

    I was unable to remove what Hitman found as the license has expired and wouldn't let me complete that action.
    Removed what RogueKiller found.
    Ran Zemana and results are attached.

    Thank you,
    Sandra

    The hitman items were not significant. Numerous hijacks were removed from Firefox......but other than that, it does not look to be malware as the issue. I am going to ask you to post in the software forum as this does not appear to be malware related. When you post in software, please consider this:

    A slow computer is not always due to malware:

    Please explain what operations are slow! For example answer the below:

    * Is boot up slow?
    * Is shutdown slow?
    * Is browsing/surfing slow?
    * Is downloading slow?
    * Is running any application?
    * Is it also slow in safe boot mode?
    * Also are any process showing in Task Manager to be using a lot of CPU time?
    * Anything else slow?

    aSince you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware.
    2. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis. If you don't see it or it will not uninstall, don't worry about it. Just move on to the next step.
    3. If running Vista, Win 7 or Win 8, it is time to make sure you have re-enabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    4. Now go to the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click ( if running Vista, Win7, or Win 8 or 10 Right Click and Run As Administrator ) on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    5. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    6. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:

    Thank you so much for all your time in helping me address this issue.

    I will now post it in the software forum and see if they can get to the bottom of it.

    One last thing, Sandra. If you know how to open a command prompt with Admin. privileges, type in
    sfc /scannow ( Note the space )
    and let it run. Perhaps the issue is corrupt system files.

    I wanted to update you what has been going on with the computer. The hard drive was dying and needed to be replaced. Eldon & Earthling helped me determine that with tests and it was going to die soon with what was found. I am surprised it lasted until I got a replacement. A few hiccups but nothing that
    I couldn't address. I installed more RAM and a new hard drive. The only issue was when I went to make a image disc as there were paritions on my computer that wouldn't allow it to be burned to a DVD do I basically am starting over. But I installed everything today and so far all is running smoothly.

    I can't thank you enough for your help, suggestions and patients. I always appreciate all the advice that is offered and never in all the years I have used MajorGeeks have I ever been given bad advice.
    Have a great weekend.
