    Hello everyone,
I was recently loading up EQ when my computer turned completely off and smelled as if it had burned up. I imediately unplugged everything and checked inside....I didn't see anything unsual. Well, I then ordered a new power supply and some more toys...ie. a new video card and some more ram. Yesterday, I put in the new power supply, video card and ram. I then plugged it all back up and tried to turn it on. The PC came on with no problem and prompted me to hit F1 or go to bios so I hit F1. It went through its normal procedures to go to windows and then stoppped at a black screen and didn't boot windows. I am not sure what happened but I am very frustrated now. I am not really good with computers and am clueless as to what I should do now. Please help...any advice would be appreciated.

If thats as far as it gets, then there is probably something wrong with the hard drive.

Not nececarily! Might be the video card.

I'd try doing a repair install of windows, or try to at least, and if you can't do that (it will fail early on if its the hard drive) then you need a new HD

If you have another computer you can use, try plugging your hard disk that is in question into it as a slave.

Also, unplug the HD, see if the system boots and says "operating disk not found" or some variant. See if you can boot from a CD, etc.

Check the BIOS to see that it recognizes the drive or not.

I would check and reseat the power cable to the hard drive and IDE cable at both the drive and the motherboard just to be sure you didn't loosen them while replacing the video card.
