I have a network of about 40 computers at a small business. These computers all run great with no malware etc because they do not have any internet allowance. The problem I am having is.

When I have my people leave for the evening they will lock their computers or log out.. depending on their personal preferences. What seems to happen when they come back to work the next morning is that they at a blank screen where you can see and move the mouse but there is no box to log in or unlock the computer. This is happening on different workstations on different nights. But we have so many start up scripts that its really becoming a problem. These computers have to be restarted in order to log in. They will not accept any keyboard strokes, mouse clicks, obscene words. lol

Anything that you could help with would be great. Thank you

    Josh

Please post the specs of the machines that have the problem on most, if the computers are not all the same.

Also, how many network scripts do you have running?

Have you entertained the possibility that a flash drive may have infected a computer?

All of the computers are different with an exception of maybe about 3 or 4 that were all made by daktech have

    all have windows xp sp3

3 three alike are 2gddr2 1.8core2duo intergrated graphics etc etc

as far as scripts go.. I have been going through those while I wait for an answer. The guy that had this job before me just made a script for every little thing. some of them seem useless to me but I am still trying to figure everything out.

there are around 55 network scripts most of them are for rdp but i consolidated it down to around 39. we will see if this solves the problem.

Did a scan on a few of the computers that are doing it the most.

    Fully updated norton showed nothing
    Fully updated malwarebytes showed nothing
    Fully updated superantispyware showed nothing

I Also went through some of the automatic updates to see if anything would fix the issue and did not have any luck.. Anyone have any insight?

Is it possible these machines are just going into hibernation or standby and not able to properly come out of it cause of all the scripts? If so I would see what happens by turning off the power settings to never go to standby or hibernate to test this on some of the machines.

Everywhere I go I end up turning those settings off cause it always seems to cause grief. You'd think those would be good settings that would save on electric but doesn't seem the case. Let me know then if it works.

    Good luck,
    Dave
