Computer is displaying messed up colors/ missing images..

Hey Majorgeeks, last night when i got home my mother had left a painters canvas lying against my computer. I turned my monitor on only to be faced with disorienting colors/ missing graphics. I honestly was going crazy and knew my computer was done with. I checked all the cables/ graphics card and nothing is loose or out, so im mind boggled. My computer boots up and loads fine, its just not displaying correctly. I can give an example of what it looks like and it looks like Missingno from Pokemon. Weird. I thought it mightve messed up due to the staples in the back of the canvas, but everyone i talked to said no way. Any ideas? Should i try another monitor? Thanks in advance!

A real knowledgable friend said its 90% a monitor graphics card problem because the lines and weird colors appear from the start of turning the computer on.

 

do you know if you have integrated graphics card. If not it shouldn't be to hard to change
