it sounds like the fan is killing itself its turning and everything but doesn't look dusty so I don't know if it has dust in there and I need to get some air cans or what its like a loud whining noise almost and if you have had a ps3 it sounds like that but louder.

I just bought this computer for 40dollars it looks like a custom built computer I was told it runs fine just needs to be taken care of but duno why the fan is blowing soo loud.

A fan makes a lot of noise for 2 main reasons either a). things are getting hot and it is doing its utmost to cool down the hardware or b). the Fan bearings are failing and it is about to die.

Can you download EVEREST Free Edition 2.20 and provide some information about your system from the Summary section on your Motherboard and CPU, then also look at the Sensor section in the program and note how hot the CPU and other parts are please.

Get yourself some canned air, clean that thing out. Do not open it up or anything, just blow it out. Like he said, it is probably about ready to die, but blowing out that dust might prolong it and make it a bit quieter

So looking at the info I assume it is the CPU Fan making a lot of noise (4688RPM) though the CPU is quite cool. You could possible modify the fan profile within BIOS but I would leave it and keep the CPU coolest possible.

Oh well I took it back to the guy and exchanged it for a Dell P4 its a lot quieter and faster so I'm pretty much okay for now but I did like that computer but even blowing the canned air into it didn't solve the problem.

Sounds like a BIOS setting issue in regard to fan speed, or, most likely, the bearings in the fan.

My system fan in my old Obi-Zero case makes a little noise at startup, and then quiets down after about a minute.

    Things get old.

LOVE the available RS232 port for my old serial connected hardware.

All in an eight year old tower...
