Why when I try and read certain sites, eg Carsales.com.au and open and look at each individual item, up to 50 different items sometimes, does my computer just jam? Is it a software problem or a hardware problem?
It also happens when I read articles I am reading newspaper articles as well. If I read several different articles from the same site, the computer will jam.

I have a Samsung Notebook RC530 with 6GB Ram, and a large Harddrive.

    Thanks

Sounds like it might be a malware/virus problem. Dowload and run a scan with Malware Bytes.

If it comes up positive for issues, you should be able to find help in the Malware Removal Forum.

    Hope this helps. :)

When you say jams, do you mean freezes? If not, describe the behavior.
If it only happens when you have the browser open then I'd say it is a problem with Internet Explorer so it is a software rather than a hardware problem.

Do this: Open IE 9 without any addons
directions to turn off addons here
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/How-to-manage-add-ons-in-Internet-Explorer-9

See if the behavior is the same. If it is not, then one of the addons is causing the problem.
To figure out which one, enable one addon and surf to a problem site. Keep doing the enable one at a time until you discover which addon is causing the problem.

I'm thinking a possibly bloated OS myself.

How many programs do you have running at startup, and/or in the background (i.e., system tray)?

I have just disabled the add-ons as suggested, there were only 6.
Can you let me know what exactly you mean by System tray please so I can look for it.
    Thanks

System tray is the little tray in the bottom right corner of the screen that has the clock/time.

Hi Guys, thanks for all your help with this problem on our Samsung, but it was all sorted out a couple of days ago. The computer developed another problem on Monday in that the volume button would rise automatically to its highest, and we had a weird problem in getting data across to go into our stockmarket program, something that we use every day for the last 10 years or so. We set up our second computer an HP and there were no problems and I tried again to sort the problem out. As we has disconnected the mouse - a Logitec wireless one, and connected an old USB mouse all the problems were solved. It was the mouse that had been causing this problem for all these weeks. Two days now and all is going well. Just thought I would pass this info on incase anyone else gets a similar problem.
