Computer keeps crashing when playing games/simulators

My Laptop keeps crashing and freezing when I play various games and simulators. It happens after a while and it has never happened until recently. Here are my specs:

Dell Laptop XPS L502X
i5 Core Processor 2.50 GHz
6 GB RAM
Windows 7 64-bit
750 GB HD
Nvidia GeForce GT 540M GC

It either freezes, shuts down/restarts, or goes to a blue screen. I've read that it might be a heat issue but I don't think thats it because I've had this computer for over a year and it hasn't down this.

 

Get this CPUID HWMonitor HWMonitor 1.23 And tell us what your temps are.

Are these temps a normal load with out playing any games at all.:confused

Or are these temps during game time.Run a temp test during gaming time.

 

Sorry I didn't specify. These are the temps when NOT playing anything. I'll send you the temps for when I am playing.

 

Ok here are the temps for when I'm playing. The temps skyrocket after playing for a while then it freezes. A message pops up saying my GC has failed but recovered. I just updated my GC though.
