    Hi

My computer seems to just randomly freeze from time to time. It can be when I am just on the internet, but has happened quite a bit this last week when I have been watching the BBC I-Player I was watching a show and it froze about 6-7 times, the next day I tried watching it with Firefox instead of IE and it was ok for nearly all the show then it froze up towards the end.

My computer again tonight froze up when I was using Skype, Camtasia and Mikogo, twice but a bit different to how it normally freezes up, it usually just freezes everything and I cant move my mouse, but tonight my computer started off freezing with my monitor going off the green power light changing to the orange stand by light and the screen went dark then it froze up.

Do you have any ideas what could be causing this?

    Thanks

    My Spec

    Dell Inspiron 531
    AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual core processor 3600+ 1.91 GHz
    2GB RAM
    Windows Vista

I have tried all of these steps. But they haven't worked, after doing the Read and Run, I thought my problem could of be caused by having Antivir and McAfee running at the same time, as well as having the Vista and McAfee firewalls enabled , so I have disabled the Vista firewall and removed Antivir.

But I was watching a video through the VideoLan player for about 40 mins then my computer froze up so I restarted it and now when I put the video on it keeps freezing up every 2 mins.

Would appreciate any other suggestions to explore.

I have been given the all clear. I have run CC Cleaner until I got 0 issues. But
I was just looking on the Internet and my computer froze up again after doing this.

    Thanks

    Hi

I haven't tried the Safe mode thing yet I will try that tomorrow. I ran both MemTest and Seagate Tools and they found nothing wrong. I have attached the screen shot you asked for.

    Thanks

    Hi Dom

It has just froze like 4 times in a row :cry, I was trying to stream a show through the BBC I-Player and everytime it goes to play the show it just freezes up, in terms of my computer freezing up this as got to be the biggest contributing factor, for some reason my computer hates the I-Player.

    Hi Dom

I went through everything you said in post #9, but I only disabled those things through CCleaner, there were somethings though that I wasn't sure about disabling/deleting because Process Library said they were a critical component. I have now gone in CCleaner and deleted that Khost and 4oD.

I have attached what is left at Startup.
