Computer keeps restarting

Working on two computers... both are continually restarting and will not boot. I am running off a freshly wiped hard drive and have Win XP disk in computer.
Blue screen occasionally gets through what do you want to do and agreement where you hit F8 then they shut down and we start back with the attempt to boot

Any ideas ????????????????????

It reads like hardware, I'd check RAM and hard drives, cables and connections first, I think. Maybe the CPU heatsinks need removing, clean the faces of them, and the CPU and apply a very small amount of thermal grease before refitting. Ensure all the fans are running, check the voltages and temperatures in the BIOS ...

Do you have any more history on these machines? Are they related in any way, same owner, network?

 

No history were both working. One is e-machines P4 and the other Gateway P4 . In both owner wanted hard drives

One was air cleaned and the other isn't

 

Hmm, the mere mention of either of those brands makes me think power supply. Try connecting the drives with different power leads. have you tried these PC's connected to a different power outlet?

What capacity are the drives? Are they new?
