. My pc was shutting down, but only when playing high end games.I upgraded my power supply since believing that that was my problem. Well, during Dragon Age 2, it happened again. The screen goes all multi-colored, there's a buuuuuur sound and the system shuts down (that's the best I can do to describe it). It happens when I play assassins creed also. So one would be inclined to think this is a heat issue but both my cpu, and gpu temps are under 60 while playing the games (fur mark maxs out at gpu - 70 and cpu 57). Could it maybe be a sound issue? I'm at a loss......

My system is home built. Specs are as follows:
    amd ll x2 3500mhz
    4 g ram
    motherboard biostar ta785g3hd
    amd radeon hd 6670
    6500watt psu

    Hi

What is your Windows version and Service Pack?

I would be like you thinking with the description of a multi-coloured screen that its a heat issue and the GPU would be my main guess at the cause, check that the cooling fan and any vents to the card are free from dust.

Give your PC a good clean out over all, all fans and vents, check that the motherboard itself does not have a layer of dust on it or any clumps of dust that have amassed in a specific location.

next would be to check your drivers from BIOSTAR for any updates HERE

The buuuuur sound could just be a co-incidence of the GPU shutting down, like a static type of thing (hard to describe at present, fuzzy brain)

That sounds like either a video or RAM issue.

To test if it's a video issue, simply install the latest drivers available from AMD. Be sure to manually uninstall the current drivers first though.

To test if it's a RAM issue, you can get a free memory testing program (Windows Vista/7 comes with one I believe, you should be able find it by going to the boot menu (hitting F8 while starting up).
