My friends computer keeps restarting over and over again.

This is not a hardware issue

5 days later she received a phone call. If you want to use your computer again pay $500 and we'll stop this issue. They are using fake indian accent.

I know she has windows, not sure if xp or vista. I think vista.

All the computer does is restart over and over and over ....

    I can't get windows.

I did f8 and tried to get into safemode with networking ...:cry ...got nothing, just continuous restart loops.

I'm not an expertrolleyes But I would say my level of computing in just above average.

    Welcome iKlone,

I see no evidence yet to rule out hardware being at fault.

Exactly what Windows error messages do you see, screenshots from a cellphone would be acceptable. How to attach items to your Post.

Which Windows version does the computer have? XP and Vista have different booting procedures.

No error messages, I will try and get a picture from my friend. I was thinking of doing a system restore at boot up if possible, back to factory settings. Just waiting on the computer to arrive ... hopefully today. Will update post when I get more info.

They don't have a product number for their operating system, although I did suggest they download free keyfinder, but they never did listen so they can get their Operating Sytsem id/key numbers and any other key products.

One tech shop said they would fix it, doing a fresh install, and have suggested it could be motherboard, power supply, heat issues, power surge etc..

Well, the techs there might be right, there's so little to go on as yet.

From the 'fake Indian accent' and the fact that the PC won't start in Safe Mode with networking or normal mode, I suspect that 'phone call was just a little wind-up through someone very close to you ;)
