Computer lost connection to the network

Hi, ALL,
This was an ongoing problem for some time now. I thought I would be able to fix it, but...

A little story before hand.
I wanted to run the "R&R ME FIRST" to clean up this machine. I successfully run SAS and MalwareBytes, however, after running the second one and rebooting I lost the network completely. All I am receiving is that "There is a little or no connectivity" and I can't access the web.

Pinging myself works: ping 127.0.0.1.
Pinging the router obviously does not.
Trying to repair either wireless or wired interface does not work at all.

There is another machine that connects to the same router/same modem (ISP) and works fine. In fact I am writing this from this machine.
The machine in question running Windows XP SP 3.

Any idea on how to fix all this?

The first thing I would do is run WinsockXPFix like Digitalocksmith says. Google that phrase on a working PC, download the exe and run it on the problem system, reboot and hopefully problems fixed !

Solution 1:
After running this command and rebooting I still have the exclamation point over my network icons.
The same happened after running the solution 2.

Any other ideas?

P.S.: Trying to repair connection its failing on renewing the IP address.

This issue is apparently resolved.
All I had to do was to reboot in safe mode and login as "Administrator".
Then I ran IE and click "Troubleshoot Network Connection".

The wizard gave me an error about some LSP2.0, which I asked him to fix.
After rebooting, the computer connected to the network without any problems.
