computer problem help please

Hi all! Well my computer has been running slower than usual. Its uninstalled a couple of programs and when I try to click on the icon/folder it says disk is not formatted, do you want to format it??????? I went to trend micro and it found 40 infections....trojans and such, dont remember the names but it cleaned them. Still having the problems, I'm at a lost so I figured I'd come here and see if someone could help........Any would be much appreciated........Thanks Autismmommy (Shari)

 

This doesn't make any sense to me. Can you please clarify this? What is "It" that uninstalled the programs? Which icons/folders are you clicking on? Clicking on an icon is basically clicking a 'link' to an application's start-up program. Unless the application is installed on a drive other than the C drive, there is no way to even see the icon let alone click on it if the drive is not formatted (unless the icon/shortcut/folder points to another drive which has either completely crashed, is completely corrupt, or has been de-partitioned). If drive C is not formatted, Windows would not even boot- all you'd see when the PC is turned on is "Operating system not found". So, either I'm not understanding you, or you have some programs installed on a 2nd hard drive, or something.... I don't know.... please clarify your post.

I'm sorry for the vagueness. Ok, I'll try to explain. On my desktop I have a games folder it has shortcuts to all my games that I play. I clicked on one of the game icons and it said disk is not formatted do you want to format it? I clicked cancel. I then went to program files and tried to click on the folder where the game is installed in and I got the same message. My computer also did this same thing to Blubster, (I have a shortcut on my desktop for it also) I don't know what "it" is. I also and not able to view my add/remove programs, (just discovered this) I click on it and nothing happens except please wait while the list is being populated. I know they told you to post here, but you didnt say in that thread that you had 40 infections... From your logs, i don't see much, but i would still post in that other thread...

btw, was your problem fixed by running those steps???

 

ok i will post them in the malware thread. and no my probs are still there. Btw, can I create a folder in my programs files and put combofix in it...i know it can only be ran from the desktop but while i'm not using it I wondered if i can put it somewhere else.....i have a computer savvy (nosy really) 12 yo autistic son that likes to click on things he doesn't have any business clicking on
