computer problem? (software or hardware i'm not too sure)

hey, i've pretty much a newbie when it comes to computers and there's this recurring problem with my computer. if any of you could help i'd be forever grateful!

a while ago my computer started shutting down for no apparent reason, so i got it formatted. however, the problems started occuring again and i don't know how to get rid of it! i tried running scans to see if it's a virus or anything but the computer ends up shutting down half way. i'm not sure if it's a software problem or a hardware or malware problem so if any of you have any idea about what's going, can you please reply? THANK YOU SO MUCH!

 

It could be a number of thing it could be heat so for that open your case and
check if all your fan are running uit could a power supply issue
how old is your power supply ???

It could be harddisk faillure it S.M.A.R.T. activate in your bios ???

 

hey, i don't think there's a problem with the overheating, i've checked there before. s.m.a.r.t. capability is disabled, but i don't know what that means? thanks for the reply. and my power supply isn't very old, i don't think.

 

i've downloaded everest but i don't really understand it...

 

run the scan and post what it says, we can unravel it for you.
