Computer randomly crashing.

Hi, I think this post belongs in this section as I dont think its a software related issue.

About 2 weeks ago I installed a new soundcard, Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Champion Series. Since then I have been getting random system crashes. Everything just locks up on the computer and I have to manually restart it. It does it on random occasions, its not just when I am doing one specific thing. I have tried reinstalling the soundcard drivers incase there was a problem on the initial install. I also reinstalled my graphics card drivers just incase it could of been that. I am not too sure what else to look at or at least monitor while im using it to try and figure out the problem. Does anyone have any idea what this problem could be or couple possibly help me figure out what it is.... any help will be appreciated as I am at my wits end lol.

Was it a new card ?
Does the PC crash when you remove it?
Are you sure the soundcard is fuctional?

 

Hi, thank you for the reply. Yes the card is new and yes it functions fine when in the computer. I have not tried to remove the card the card and see if I still get the crashes yet. I knew that was probably going to a must but was just seeing if there was anything that could be causing it before taking it back out. Is there any monitoring tools for system crashes? Something that will create a log when a system crashes?

Ok I will try this memory debugging you have linked me to and let you know what it comes back with. I also decided it would be worth disabling my on board sound as there will be no need for it.
