This has been happening for a few months now, and it's getting really annoying. My computer will be working fine, not overheating or anything, then all of the sudden it shuts itself down. It happens a few times in one day sometimes. It doesn't matter what I'm doing, it will come without warning. Once it shuts down the power button is useless until I turn the power supply off for a few seconds and then back on. It could be a driver problem, but I updated my drivers, and it still does it so, I'm not sure what one is the culprit.

Shut downs are caused by overheating to protect the CPU. Open up the computer and check if all fans are running, particulary over the CPU (if that dies, the computer will shut off). Is the thermal compound between the chip and fan good?
