Hola! My daughter's Dell Desktop computer will shut down when she starts playing games that demand alot. We thought it was the power supply but we just had that replace and upgraded and it is still doing it.
Is there a program that will tell us what the heck is going on?

Also, she has Kaspersky Antivirus on it and it won't let us uninstall it no matter how many times she tries the fixes from Kaspersky. We can't even upgrade it. Any idea how to get Kaspersky off the computer?

    TY!

    What model Dell?
Is the graphics it is using the onboard or has she installed a video card?

99% of the time computers shut down because of heat. Since it only happens when she games, the graphics is causing it to overheat. (A dedicated card might have a fan that isn't working properly). If it is onboard, then maybe another fan isn't working properly.

Occasionally errors can occur whenever attempting to delete/uninstall Kaspersky Antivirus; which render it difficult to remove entirely (in fact, this is so with just about all of the major AV products currently out there).

I actually tested Kaspersky Internet Security 2012 a while back and also had trouble uninstalling it as well; but was able to do so by using the Removal Tool for Kaspersky Lab Products.

Important: Be sure to read thoroughly read through the instructions on that webpage before downloading and/or installing and using the Removal tool in order to get the most out of using it. ;)

Side Note: According to that Kaspersky site; "Under Windows 64-bit OSs the removal utility does not uninstall Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0/7.0 and Kaspersky Internet Security 6.0/7.0"

    Good Luck! -- COMP

    Graphics: DELL SR2220L (1920x1080@60Hz)
ATI Radeon HD 4650 (XFX Pine Group) 59 °C

Sorry, I still can't tell what model Dell you have and if the graphics is a chip or a card.
falconattack asked for speccy; for me that is too much information, I get overwhelmed.

    Hola! : )

    Dell Inspiron 580

It took me this long to remember to ask her when she was home and not in class!

She installed a new graphics card after she bought the computer, so it did not come with it.

when was the last time the Fans where cleaned if at all. Most likely does sound like a heat issue. If i remember right Ati Radeon's tend too over heat.I use too have one that over heated. When you go too clean the fans make sure that they don't move while cleaning.138F is a bit warm I did a converter lol the max temp a video card can handle is 160F Then it shuts down.
