computer SLOW after repair/reinstall

    I did a repair and reinstall (with XP) on my computer the other day. but now, my computer is SO slow. the boot is slow and my download speeds are very bad.
    what can i do? thanks for the advice!! :)

    Adam,


    Did you carry out a clean install or did you run XP over the existing setup? If it was a clean setup then I suggest you defrag the hard drive. If you re-installed ovre the existing then it would be better to format and carry out a clean installation.

    Going slow could be a virus but unlikely if it is a clean install.
