Computer slow at night. [URGENT]

Hi.

My internet speed slows down at night, when its day time its fine but when its night its becomes slower than usual is there anyway to fix this? THNXS if you can.

 

Sometimes maintenance programs run at night, usually from Task Scheduler or another program that loads on startup. These often don't use network resources, but sometimes software is automatically updating. If you can find the running applications, see if any of them are updating. Also, I've heard of download managers that download at night.

If you have cable, the connection could slow down if others are using the connection more, which is usually a rare occurance at night.

Another possibility is spyware communicating with its home server or malware using your computer to help a DoS attack, so you should probably read the Malware Removal Guide if still unsure.

 

What type of connection do you have? You could run a few speed tests to see if in fact its your connection. http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/ If so take it up with your ISP.
