computer stops every 2 days

i have xp home and i leave the computer on all the time.

every 2 days it gets so bad it won't even bring up the task manager or anything.

i have to log out and log back in then it's back to normal.

 

Well your first problem is Windows XP.
I'd suggest you format your PC and install LINUX. But wait before you hit that format button. Do you have any programs running while your computer is on? It could be that one of them has a memory leak. Basically it's constantly using your RAM without releasing any. Well that's what I think. Then when you log out all the processes are killed and release all the RAM. That would explain why you have to log out.
