computer switches off

Hi guys, my computer just switches of when i am gaming online, it doesnt do it any other time when im just browsing, could it be my graphics card ? i have nvidea geforce fx 5700 le with 128mb. any ideas ?

 

agrees, you might also want to look into "hwmonitor", or "everest" (both, free d/l's from here), and check your temps (before, and during the game). - sos

Then can you boot up and open either and while system is idle please post back the temps. After this use HWMonitor and run:

MemTest for Windows for about 20 mins or just game for 5-10mins then hit "alt-tab" or "windows" key and post back the temps from HWMonitor. Let's see what they are doing.

 

ok thx guys , opened the case while playing a game and noticed my fan on my graphics card is not turning, i presume it comes on straight away or is it when it reaches a certain temp, monitered temps and have 32c 36c and 128c i suppose the 128 is my graphics card. my system is AMD ATHLON 2800 WITH 1 GB RAM WITH POWER SUPPLY OF 400W WHAT IS THE MAX CARD I COULD HAVE FOR MY SYSTEM I GOT A AGP NVIDEA GEFORCE FX5700LE 128 MB AT THE MOMENT AND NOW WITH A BROKEN FAN ON IT ANY IDEAS ?
