Computer & TV Antenna interference question

I got my Leadtek tv deluxe video card.... and let me say it's awesome (playing games or watching movies on S-video)! It was worth the price for $44 (compared to the higher priced cards).

Now I'm on the process of fixing the "TV" part working... sadly the FM Antenna sucks for tv channel recieving (i dont have cable.. so it's old school TV reception style).... thus I'm planning to buy a TV Antenna.

    My question is this:

I have ZERO space on my desk at all.... so I was thinking about putting the TV Antenna on top of my computer case.

Will the radio waves from the antenna (or the antenna itself) can do any harmful or negative effects on my PC (components parts and hard drives)?

My question obviously shows I'm not an expert on such things like electronic waves and computer components (Aside from magnet = bad on computer parts especially hard drive).

Thus this is why I asked because I dont want to risk anything like this.

    Thank you.

actually, it'll be the other way around. the em from the computer will interfere with the tv signal (mainly with the lower channels). I don't have a tv antenna set up, but i tend to get reception interference when my radio is near my computer

dont worry at all about it. even if the antenna is slightly magnetic, it takes a pretty strong magnet to do any real damage to a hard drive or other components.

Good luck with the TV antenna, i have that card, and agree the FM feature (even for simple FM Radio) is pretty bad...

other than that I love it, and with cable TV hooked up to it, its a very nice card.

Ah I see. I'm just worried that it'll interfer with my computer lol. Thanks for explaining it to me :)

It's a shame I dont have cable.... otherwise, this wouldn't been much of a problem.

I'm hoping the computer wont interfer with the radio waves then. Thanks again!

you should be fine. assuming you didn't put a window in your case, your computer will be much better shielded than mine.
