computer will not boot,pls help!

    ran spybot and superantispyware across computer, rebooted machine everything goes well I use my password to get into xp, my desktop comes up but no start bar or icons, I have mouse and keyboard functioning and I can get to task mgr just cannot figure out how to get any further.

    I would look at task manager and see if explorer is in that list if not run new task and type EXPLORER.EXE PRESS ENTER and see if it fires up!!

    Thank you for that helpfull solution! computer has some gremlins. explorer.exe got me back in to be able to remove them.
