Hello my problem is that when I go to start up my computer it goes through the first black screen of setup and then the black screen of computer specs then at the bottom of the screen it looks like a Yo Yo symbol. I have tried swithing the ram and a new video card. I have also tried disconnecting everything but the video card, ram, and hhd. If anyone can help me with this problem it would be appectied. Thanks. My spec are:

    amd athlon 900mhz
    ak-74 motherboard
    geforce mx200 32 mb
    256 sdram
    wd hhd 160

Could be the HDD has died. Do you get to the windows start-up but it doesn't finish loading?

It gets to the screen just before the windows xp logo and sliding blue bar but the harddrive was just replaced about a year ago with a brand new one. I will give it a try with a spare that I have and see

Just tried my other hhd and went to install xp and the programming took. So it looks like the HHD bit the dust. I didn't think that would be the problem because it wasn't that old but I quess anything can go at any time. Thanks
