computer wont boot when sansa C250 is plugged in.

    splitt3r You are now the victim of a drive by title change

    ok, this is a weird problem. if i try to start up my computer with the sansa c250 MP3 player hooked up by it's USB cable the computer wont boot. It gets to the compaq splash screen and just stays there. the only way to fix it is to unplug the MP3 player and manually restart the computer. I can't even get into BIOS when this happens.

    I had a problem like that on an Intel motherboard with an Intel webcam-- plugged in, no boot. I think eventually a BIOS update solved it.

    I will check HPs site for a BIOS update. it is kinda strange, I didn't think it even recognized USB devices until it finished booting up.

    You might try checking your boot order in CMOS to make sure it's not trying to boot from a USB device before the Hard Drive.


    Just a stab in the dark...
