computer wont boot

    my no brand psu died recently on my old p3 system, so i immedaitly replaced it with another one. However my comp wont start now, my mobo light lights up showing that my mobo is recieving the power but when i press the power button it doesnt start up or anything....help?

    You got a 24 pin or a 20 pin mobo ....(connector on the board for the PS)?

    Unplug the power supply, pull the mother board battery out for a few minutes, put battery back in and see if it will post, maybe it wasnt your psu in the beginning. ed

    cuz it went pop and sparks flew out and it smelled bad afterwards.... :(

    Good, you're back ....24 pin connector on the mobo or 20 pin?

    And sparks and bad smell would do it ....but it might also have done in the mobo or cpu ...disconnect everything! except hard drive and ram (if onboard video use it ...if video card remove it and sound and ethernet cards) ...see if it will at least beep at you.
