Computer won't boot

Last week there was a thunderstorm and the day after my PC decided to die, it worked fine after the storm but by noon it was unresponsive. I tried rebooting and at first it seemed it was going to load, it froze again when my wallpaper appeared after windows xp was loading. I then waited a bit before trying to restart it again after work and then it would not go to BIOS, I read the different possibilities online about what could be wrong so I bought a new mother board and processor and put them in but it would still not post. At that point all of the fans and lights inside the case died so I thought it has to be the power supply. Well the new power supply arrived and it was still doing the same thing. So my current thought is the problem is my graphics card. Is there anything else I can check.

You've sort of gone about the fault finding process in reverse order.

Normal order of checking things is:

1. RAM
2. Video Card
3. Power Supply
4. Motherboard

If it does not POST with the RAM removed then remove the video card and replace the RAM. If it still doesn't POST then remove both.

Next I would test the PSU (but yours is new and is therefore working -we hope).

Finally as you have a new mobo, did you get a new CPU to go with it? Because if you didn't it could be the CPU itself that has died.
