Receiving a massage: a disk read error occurred; computer won't boot.
Restarting computer won't help with the error. Any ideas how to fix this problem? I don't wont to reload the XP, to much hassle.

If you have your OS disc, boot to it and go into the recovery console and do a chkdsk /r.

    I love massages! :p

But in all seriousness, if you have your OS disc, then do what TimW said. If you don't have your OS disc, try to borrow one from a friend or get a hold of a live Linux disc, most of them have hard disc repair programs on them.
