computer won't boot

    I have Dell Optiplex GX1 and it won't boot at all could it possibly be CMOS Battery? I f so how do i locate iton the mother board? is it expensive to replace?:mad:

    I really dought that it is the battery, does your fans come on? Can you feel air coming out of the rear of the pc.? Could be alot of things until we narrow it down. ed

    Yes the fans come on it just won't boot even from cd

    Be sure your monitor cable on the rear of the pc is connected tight, are you sure the monitor is working? The battery will be on the mother board, its about the size of a nickle, it can be mounted flat, or in a holder standing up and down. They are not very much, maybe $3 [CR2032] battery number.

    Then it's not powering up the board to do a post test ...would replace the power supply (400watt @$40.00).:)
