Computer wont sleep

    nvidia GeForce 8400 GS

    Hi!

    I've always had my Power options set to turn my monitor off after 10 min and the HDs off after 30. Never had any issues (had machine for 4 years) until a few months ago when my I noticed my monitor wasn't powering down anymore.

    If I uninstall/reinstall my nvidia drivers, my monitor will power down as it should for a few days, but inevitably fails to power down after that. There has to be an alternative solution other than reinstalling video drivers every few days. Any ideas?????

    Extensive research of forums has only produced ambiguous results....

    Go through the nvidia control center and check that it is not checking for and downloading updated drivers.
    Write down the version of the driver you are installing. When the screensaver no longer works, check to see what version of the driver is installed. If it is different, that could be the problem
