Computer Won't Turn On

Hi I was on my computer this morning (Hp Pavillion Running windows 98 ) And I went to click on a link and the screen turned black I thought it might have been the monitor but now the computer won't even turn on .Is it fried ?I hope not because there is stuff on that computer that I can't get from this one

MAKE SURE ITS PLUGGED IN IN THE WALL AND THE BACK OF THE PC!
if that doesnt work, open up the case and make sure all the connections are connected good.
if that doesnt work, the power supply has probably gone bad.
i would try swapping them out if you have a different PC or buying another one and try that.

 

It depends what not turning on means does nothing at all happen when you push the power on,no fans lights,anything?If it does more descrobe exactly how far it gets before halting

Dont worry just yet even if the computer is dead theres a good chance we can still get the data from the harddrive simply by installing it into another computer
