computer yurning itself off then on again

my computer seems to be pocessed it has been turning itself off an on have cleaned out the fans it's not over heating as it can be doing this in the middle of the night i need help i have resorted to taking the plug out:cry

 

done all that and it still wont work begining to think i should call a priest for an excorisim:cry

 

:-D I've thought the same thing before but the computer was turning itself on after a shutdown.

What OS is it? How are you shutting it down or going into standby?

 

Have you changed anything or added new hardware to the computer? If you have one, and you feel comfortable opening up the computer and working on it, try a different power supply.

 

ok people have spoke to a computer tech and it is one or 3 problems processor, fan and motherboard so i am going to get a new computer

 

@ plodr, I don't think it's just rebooting, like with a windows update, if the solution is to pull the plug.

I hope you were due for a new computer anyway. The solution is a little extreme otherwise. There are other possible reasons than what was said is a possibility.
