Computer's Gone WRONG!!!

Well what a disaster, I yesterday asked for some help with memory upgrade for a friend.

Well he installed new memory from 1gb to 2gb. When he started up the hard drive stayed on / the mains on button

keeps flashing / there is no signal to the monitor / & thats it nothing!!!

I went round and put his old memory back in & restarted but this time It started as normal (so it seemed) it then

stops H/Drive activity after about 5 seconds / no signal on monitor / & thats how it stays doing nothing.

I am not an expert on the bits in the case so SOME HELP would be most appreciated, I did see he has an ATI Card

installed (Monitor is attached to that)

Chipset VIA - K8T800 (VT8383) REV. 01

Running 1GB DDR Memory at the moment, & he wants to upgrade to 2GB.

PLEASE HELP MY FRIEND IS PANICKING BIG TIME

 

Check that when the RAM was fitted that you didn't accidently knock a cable slightly loose or the video card too. It's very easy to just knock a card or RAM chip when rummaging around inside a PC.

 

Yeh thanks Yargwel, that was one of the problems I found when I rechecked inside, a slightly loose cable. I also refitted the new memory 2GB (& I also cleaned up slots etc) & it fired into life.
