Computers not showing in Active Directory

I have posted this issue on Microsoft Technet forums as well but maybe someone here could shed some light on my issue.

Just a follow-up

I will need to manually un-join and then re-join these computers to the domain in order for them to show up correctly in the computer container in Active Directory.

 

ONe thing Microsoft wont tell you is that the reason you are having this problem is due to the fact that the SID in AD is not registering correctly. WHY? the only good answer for that, is for you to run a AD diagnostic (dcdiag or Ntdsutil.exe) on your network. This way you can truly be sure that your problem is only a SID problem (local computer issue) or a active directory problem. If you determine that it is only a computer issue, then to fix this problem completely, you need to give that computer a new SID. To get a new sid creator google a company called sysinternals. I have used this program a thousand times and it works great. I never had to use this program because of AD but because my Symantec antivirus for my network got screwed up and I needed to create a new sid for some machines. Hope this helps.

ya I think the problem with a lot of the computers were that they were all imaged but before I deployed the image I forgot to run sysprep so there were some descrepencies.
